Main Street Mural Project, Mount Pleasant
The Mount Pleasant Business District Authority, local artists and businesses come together for the Main Street Mural Project in Mount Pleasant, Pa
The Main Street Mural Project is a collaboration between local Business Owners in the Mount Pleasant Business District (BDA), talented local Artists and the Mount Pleasant High School National Art Honor Society. The goal of this project is to highlight both the business and the arts by creating window mural art for the community and beyond to enjoy. Each window created needs to complement the business and provide an uplifting and inspiring message for all to see. Upon completion of the project, we encourage the public to take photos, post a selfie and tag everyone on the displayed list that has made this project possible.
Led by talented artist Gabby Giovenco, Greensburg Salem Middle School Art Teacher. Gabby has a passion for the arts and her first design fits perfectly with the business. She and the Mount Pleasant High School National Art Honor society students will be painting Maisy Cakes window, located at 520 W. Main Street in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, April 6th and Sunday, April 7th. The next window will be scheduled at the beginning of June. Levin’s Furniture and Mattress has offered their window for the project.
Cheri Cole, owner of Maisy Cakes is excited to have her business be a part of it. The design complements her bakery. The quote on the window is perfect, “Spread happiness like sprinkles.”
