Further testimony for the prosecution was heard Monday in the Tree of Life trial.
On Monday, SWAT team members described the scene inside the Pittsburgh synagogue in October 2018. One officer recounted how he exchanged gunfire with suspect Robert Bowers before wounding him; a former paramedic recalled encountering numerous victims, most of them dead. Eleven people were killed in the attack.
Bowers’ defense team objected to prosecutors’ use of graphic and sensitive crime scene photos of the victims.
The 50-year-old Bowers is accused of 63 crimes; he could face the death penalty if convicted. The trial enters day 6 today.
