A Hempfield man will spend time in state prison for a guilty plea to a charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. The Trib reports that the plea was entered by 25-year-old Michael Flowers yesterday for sexually assaulting a then 13-year-old girl in 2017. Flowers had denied two incidents where he allegedly sexually assaulted her, but conceded that he had sexual relations at a home in Hempfield. Common pleas court judge Tim Krieger sentenced him to five and a half to 12 years of prison. Flowers will also serve one to five years for a guilty plea to terroristic threats and harassment in a separate case. The sentences will run concurrently.
