Hempfield Supervisors are considering their options and revising plans for a proposed municipal complex and park in an attempt to lower the cost of the project. The Trib reports that the board of supervisors approved bids related to site development for the 43-acre parcel of land the township purchased from Excela Health in 2021. They developed plans to build the municipal complex, including Weatherwood Community Park, there for a projected $16 million. A revised call for bids is expected to go out in June and a contract to be awarded in August.
