A Pittsburgh man is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and illegal possession of narcotics after a drug bust in Murrysville last evening. The Trib reports that state police filed charges against 25-year-old Robert Whitley of Terrace Village after they were tipped off that he may be making a delivery of heroin or fentanyl along with some cocaine, and he was pulled over in the parking lot of the Murrysville Walmart. Police said when a trooper was sweeping the vehicle for additional passengers, he came in contact with an unknown white substance, and when he got back to the station, he exhibited signs of narcotics exposure. The Trooper needed several doses of narcan to counteract the effects. State police were granted a search warrant for Whitley’s vehicle around 5:30 p.m. and discovered more than 40 bricks of suspected heroin or fentanyl and about 5.5 ounces of suspected cocaine. Whitley is now in Westmoreland County Jail as bail was denied. A preliminary hearing was set for June 3rd.
