Many communities in Westmoreland County celebrated Memorial Day yesterday. Reports say that The communities of Irwin and North Huntingdon held a parade and several ceremonies. The ceremonies kicked off at 7 a.m. in Irwin and continued throughout the morning in North Huntingdon and Circleville. Then, the parade headed down Main and Second streets in Irwin. Ceremonies ended with a 21-gun salute. Meanwhile in Bovard, ceremonies focused on five men from the area who died in World War II through a traditional musical performance from West Mifflin musician Brian Loosz.
