A Fayette County man died while working on an air conditioning unit in Latrobe. Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson said in a news release that 33-year-old James Alfred McGalla, Jr. of Fairchance was working on the AC unit at 10:42 in the morning at a location on Devereaux Drive when he touched a live 480-volt open circuit. State police, Mutual Aid EMS and Lloydsville fire department were dispatched at the time. McGalla was pronounced dead at Independence-Latrobe Hospital. An autopsy will be performed. Cause and manner of death are pending at this time.
