Westmoreland County prosecutors are trying to prove that a New Kensington man with robbing and killing an Arnold man in a vacant parking lot over four years ago. The Trib reports that opening statements were made in the trial of 34-year-old Latresse Tareke Williams. He is accused of shooting and killing Anthone Williams, no relation, on January 15th of 2020. Police say that Latresse shot Anthone as part of a robbery of cash and cocaine. Assistant District Attorney Anthony Iannamorrelli said that DNA evidence will link Latresse to the killing. Among those who testified were police and a friend who was asked to set up the robbery. The trial is expected to continue today.
