WESTMORELAND COUNTY COMMISSIONERS UNDER FIRE FROM LOCAL LGBTQ+ ADVOCACY GROUP

Westmoreland County Commissioners are coming under fire from a local LGBTQ+ advocacy group.  The trib reports that the Greensburg chapter of PFLAG submitted a petition to have the Commissioners recognize June as Pride Month in the county, but the request is not on the draft agenda for today’s meeting.  Democratic Commissioner Ted Kopas said that he supports the proclamation but it was rebuffed by his Republican counterparts.  Sean Kertes and Doug Chew declined to comment on the issue.
