The National Weather Service is confirming that four tornadoes touched down across Western Pennsylvania during the storms on Wednesday evening. The strongest was an EF2 twister that moved through a section of Westmoreland County south of Delmont to near Shieldsburg and New Alexandria. Meteorologists say an EF1 tornado was spawned near the line between Allegheny and Washington counties, causing damage to trees in North Fayette Township and Oakdale. Another EF1 moved from a spot near North Versailles to Bushy Run Battlefield Park. NWS reports the fourth twister, an EF Zero, touched down near Blairsville in southern Indiana County.
