A man who is a person of interest in a fatal shooting case last month in Export waived his right to a preliminary hearing in a drug case. The Trib reports that 32-year-old Matthew Miller is being held without bail in Westmoreland County Prison. State Police said they discovered 20 marijuana plants and other drug paraphernalia in Miller’s basement while investigating the shooting of Daniel Chicka, Jr. He is charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. Meanwhile, the county DA’s office is reviewing neighborhood video footage and other evidence. It’s not known when charges will be filed in connection with the shooting.
