The City of Greensburg has donated $10,000 to Mutual Aid so they can buy two blood storage coolers. The Trib reports that in May, the ambulance service started it’s blood program in May to outfit two of its vehicles with bags of blood, transfusion equipment and a cooler. The initiative is meant to better care for patients with severe blood loss or hemorrhagic shock from vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds or postpartum bleeding. Greensburg becomes the second municipality to support the ambulance service.
