Police in Murrysville used a police department drone to find a man who they said assaulted a woman and tried to set her house on fire. The Trib reports that 28-year-old Jeremy Rupp of Pittsburgh allegedly broke into the home of the victim Tuesday morning on Christy Run Road, assaulted her and tried to set a fire in the kitchen. Rupp fled the scene the same time she did, and using a drone, a police dog from New Kensington and help from neighboring departments, he was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit at 8:00 AM. He was charged with burglary, arson, reckless endangerment and related offenses.
