Friends and family gathered last night for a fundraiser in honor of a Penn Township man killed while trying to clean up storm damage last week. WTAE-TV reports that Jacob Lazar died last Thursday after he was hit by a falling tree. An Eagle Scout and Volunteer firefighter, he was helping to clear trees from the recent tornadoes that came through the county when he was killed. The Hometown Pizzeria and Eatery held a fundraiser last night to help the Lazar family with expenses. There’s no word yet on how much money was raised.
