Allegheny County Police say the death of a Westmoreland County man following an arrest in early July on a charge of public drunkenness is now being investigated as a homicide. The Trib reports that police in West Mifflin had arrested an un-named 31-year-old man around 3:00 AM on July 5th after responding to a report of an intoxicated man trying to enter a home near the intersection of Worton Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue. After he was taken to a holding cell, he fell unconscious and unresponsive. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition and was pronounced brain dead on July 8th and officially dead on July 10th. Police say the man was involved in an altercation earlier in the night in Versailles. Anyone with information is asked to call Allegheny County Police at 833-255-8477.
