Pennsylvania Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of a woman serving 60 years to life in prison for her role in the 2010 torture-slaying of a mentally disabled woman. The Trib reports that 32-year-old Angela Marrinucci has argued that her sentence was unconstitutional and the product of a biased judge. Police said that she initiated the torture killing of 30-year-old Jennifer Daugherty in February of 2010, and convincing others to join her. She was convicted of first-degree murder and was sentenced to life, but it was overturned due to rules concerning minors being ineligible for life sentences. In 2022, county judge Rita Hathaway sentenced her to 40-years to life for the first-degree murder charge, and a consecutive 20-40 year sentence for torture. In a one-sentence ruling, the court said it would not hear the appeal.
