GREENSBURG WOMAN CHARGED WITH SIMPLE ASSAULT AND CHILD ENDANGERMENT

A Greensburg woman is charged with simple assault and child endangerment after a relative accused her of hurting three children in the household and authorities discovered they were living in filthy conditions.  The Trib reports that the investigation into 23-year-old Katie Atkinson started after a childline call was made on July 8th.  An uncle claimed he saw her three children eating moldy food, wearing filthy clothes and  had injuries appear over time.  Police found filthy conditions when they searched her home.  Atkinson is free on bail, with a preliminary hearing set for Thursday.
