LATROBE GARBAGE RATES COULD GO UP

Garbage rates could go up significantly in Latrobe.  The Trib reports that County Hauling of Rostraver is the only one that has submitted bids for the garbage collection contract starting when the contract with Republic Services expires.  County Hauling’s bid would have bag collection fees increase 87%, while those who use toters would increase by 63.5%  There would also be 8% fee increases for each of the following years.  Latrobe City officials could seek a new round of bids or perform the garbage hauling themselves.
