FORMER SAINT VINCENT ARCHABBOT HAS DIED

The former longtime Archabbot of Saint Vincent Archabbey has died.  The Trib reports that Douglas R. Nowicki died following a brief illness at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.  Along with being the Archabbot from 1991 to 2020, he was also chancellor at Saint Vincent College and Seminary.  During his time, he oversaw growth in all areas of Saint Vincent and helped to expand the college’s footprint within the community.  Nowicki was 79.
