PENN STATE NEW KEN CAMPUS IN DANGER OF CLOSURE

The Penn State New Kensington Campus is in danger of closure.  The Trib reports that University President Neeli Bendaputi said in a statement yesterday that she expects a final recommendation on which branch campuses to close by the end of the current semester and will make a decision before spring commencement.  She said that the university cannot sustain a viable branch campus system without closing some of their locations.  Those selected will close in two years time and for faculty on those campuses, they will be able to be reassigned within Penn State, while students will be provided a pathway to complete their degree either on campus or online.
