SENATOR FETTERMAN URGES TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TO ALLOW MEDICARE AND MEDICAID COVER ANTI-OBESITY DRUGS

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is urging the Trump Administration to let a rule allowing Medicare and Medicaid to cover high demand anti-obesity drugs move forward.  In an op-ed piece for the New York Times, Fetterman revealed he is taking Mounjaro, one of the medications that would have covered by the healthcare programs under a rule proposed by the Biden Administration.  The Trump Administration announced last week that it would not finalize the rule, a decision Fetterman is asking them to reconsider.  The Democrat says Mounjaro has made a “significant impact” on his overall health, and believes expanding coverage of those medications would give “millions of Americans a real shot at healthier lives.”
