HEMPFIELD MAN DIES IN PICKUP TRUCK CRASH

A Hempfield man died Saturday after his pickup truck crashed.  Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson said that 68-year-old Kenneth Altman was driving North on Greengate Road at 4:15 PM when his truck collided head-on with a tree.  He was taken to Independence Health in Latrobe where he later died.  Altman’s death was ruled accidental due to blunt force injuries.  He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
