HEMPFIELD SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES CHANGING START AND END TIMES FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR

Hempfield School Board members approved changing the start and end times for the next school year.  The Trib reports that for the 2025-26 school year, high school will start 10 minutes earlier, and dismissal will be 15 minutes earlier.  For middle school, the start and dismissal times will match the high school times, nearly an hour’s change.  Elementary students will start a half-hour earlier and dismiss 20 minutes earlier next year.  This is to allow two bus runs instead of three, and make sure that some students get home before 5:00 PM.  A shortage of school bus drivers also lead to the decision to change the times.
