A trial date has been set for a New Kensington man charged with the beating death of a toddler in 2020. The Trib reports that the capital murder trial of Keith Lilly, Jr. will begin in September, but Judge Scott Mears also conceded that the logistics of the prosecution may prevent the trial from starting on-time. Lilly is accused of violently shaking and sexually abusing Mikel Fetterman, who died after a monthlong hospital stay in April 2020. Prosecutors said they will seek the death penalty. Also scheduled was the trial of Steven Shively of Everson in Fayette County who is charged with drug delivery resulting in death for a case in August of 2020 where Jason Schwartz was killed by a drug overdose. Dawson has been awaiting trial for nearly five years.
