Ligonier Township’s Planning Commission is reccomending a modification to a conditional use permit to allow the Ligonier Country Market to open on May 17th as planned. The Trib reports that the board heard from several vendors and business owners in Downtown Ligonier Borough. Both said that the date is crucial for their operations and will be good for the community. The permit says the market can open after Memorial Day, but for the past few years, they have opened the market before then. The complaint was made by a former vendor who was ousted by a change in market policy. The township supervisors will hear testimony on the matter at a formal hearing Tuesday at 7 PM.
