FORMER GREENSBURG POLICE CHIEF SENTENCED

Former Greensburg Police Chief Shawn Denning was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison and two years of probation for distributing drugs.  The Trib reports that he will remain free on bond until he is instructed to surrender to begin serving his sentence.  He pleaded guilty in April of last year to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute meth and cocaine in incidents that went back to July of 2021.  He was arrested in January of 2023 at Greensburg City hall.  He had been with the department from 2008 until his resignation after his arrest.
