Ligonier Country Market received approval to open earlier than originally requested by their conditional-use permit. The Trib reports that vote was 3-0 with two township supervisors unable to attend. The market had been opening in mid-May for the last decade, but they had been technically in violation of the 2008 permit that said they couldn’t open until after Memorial Day. That complaint was brought up by a former vendor ousted by a change in market policy. The market will now open the first Saturday after Mother’s day.
