Outages continue for many Westmoreland County residents. West Penn Power reports that 9,596 of its customers are without power as of this morning. Allegheny Township, New Kensington City, and Murrysville have the highest concentration of outages. First Energy, West Penn Power’s parent company, has started a program where customers still affected by the outage can pick up free ice and water at several Giant Eagle locations. That list can be found on the county’s website, and we have the link for it on our website, whjbfm.com.
