A New Kensington man who was killed in the Korean War has been accounted for. WPXI-TV reports that 20-year-old Army Private First Class Roland Bowser was identified in late March according to the Defense POW/MIA accounting agency. Bowser was reported missing on November 2nd, 1950, after his batallion withdrew from Unsan. Returning prisoners of war said that he died in early June of 1951 while in captivity in a North Korean Camp. His remains were initially unable to be identified, but that identification was made possible after they were disinterred in 2019. Bowser will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
