A former Hillandale Farms executive was ordered to serve time in federal prison for embezzling $6.8 million over a 13-year period. The Trib reports that 60-year-old Jonathan Weston was sentenced to 27 months in prison for a guilty plea for charges of conspiracy to fraud, filing false income tax returns and conspiracy to commit money laundering. The U.S. Attorney’s office said that Weston conspired with another employee at Hillandale to embezzle the money from October of 2005 to January of 2019. He would launder the money through various businesses and used it to buy collectable cars, real estate, and to pay family expenses.
