MAN IN CUSTODY AFTER FLEEING FROM JEANNETTE OFFICERS

A man is in custody after fleeing from officers in Jeannette this past weekend.  The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office reports 40-year-old Matthew Murphy was apprehended on Saturday.  The DA says police spotted Murphy, who has outstanding warrants, getting into a car and attempted to detain him before he took off, nearly dragging an officer.  He was found hiding under a porch after he crashed the car and ran on foot, according to authorities.
