During yesterday’s election, citizens in New Florence voted to revoke the borough’s dry status. The Trib reports that 64% of voters voted in favor of a referendum to change the laws from the 1930’s that banned beer and liquor sales in the area. New Florence was one of four dry communities left in the county before yesterday’s vote. Restaurants in the borough will now be able to apply for a liquor license to sell beer and alcohol at their establishments.
