Governor Shapiro says he plans to “strongly” encourage the state’s health insurers to cover non-prescription birth control pills. The new product called OpillĀ [[ OH-pill ]] is expected to cost about 20-dollars for a month’s supply. It was recently approved by the FDA for use without a prescription. The Shapiro administration wants state insurers to not only cover the drug but also to exempt it from a lengthy approval process for coverage.
