The mayor of Scottdale will be honored later this year as the Pennsylvania Mayor of the Year. The Trib reports that the honor for Mayor Charles King comes from the Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association and will be presented in July at a conference in Johnstown. King has been mayor for 13 years, and during his time, He’s been involved in the town’s Picnic in the Park, the National Night Out event, Adopt-A-Highway litter cleanup efforts, the YMCA of Laurel Highlands, the Scottdale Salvation Army and the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department, said Councilwoman Mary Robson.
