JEANNETTE WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER HITTING MAN WITH VAN

A man was seriously injured after a Jeannette woman hit him with a utility van. The Trib reports that 34-year-old Amanda Knerien told police that she had accidentally backed into the victim after dropping him off at an apartment on Lendart Avenue, but a witness reported seeing the two arguing and the man getting out of the van when it accelerated and hit him with the door and ran him over several times. The man was transferred to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, police said. Knerien was lodged at the Westmoreland County Prison on $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 6.
