A Unity man was sentenced to up to 16 years in prison for his part in a drug overdose that resulted in the death of a Latrobe woman in 2019. The Trib reports that 46-year-old Chad Ghrist entered guilty pleas to drug delivery resulting in death and other crimes connected with the passing of 40-year-old Rebecca Campbell, along with charges connected with two unrelated drug deals that year. Campbell was found dead in her Latrobe home in August 2019. Police said evidence revealed she purchased fentanyl-laced heroin from Ghrist the day before her fatal overdose. According to court records, police said Ghrist’s DNA was found on two empty stamp bags found near Campbell’s body. Ghrist’s sentence will run concurrent to a 3-8 year sentence imposed by an Indiana County judge in 2021.
