DOMESTIC SITUATION ON PIZZA BARN ROAD

A domestic situation on the 800 block of Pizza Barn Road at 8 p.m. on Wednesday quickly escalated into a standoff after the man barricaded himself inside. Benjamin Clawson faces charges of terroristic threats and simple assault stemming from the situation. According to court documents, Clawson started threatening his grandmother, saying he was going to burn the house down. His grandmother called police and her daughter for assistance. State police trooper Steve Limani said family members informed the police that there were guns in the home. After hours of negotiations, officers finally deployed tear gas and flash-bangs to force Clawson out of the home. He has to undergo a mental evaluation and is scheduled to be in court on June 26th.
