The National Weather Service has upgraded its heat advisory to an excessive heat warning through 8:00 PM Friday. Heat index values ranging from 105 to 110 degrees are expected. Little relief will be observed at night with temperatures ranging from 70 to 75 degrees. People are advised to stay hydrated, stay in air conditioned environments and out of the sun. If you have to work outdoors, wear loose, lightweight, light colored clothing and take frequent breaks in shaded or air conditioned areas, and take action if symptoms of heat-related illness start to show. People are also advised to check in on their neighbors and the elderly if they need help. A check of your Accuweather forecast is coming up in a few minutes.
