WESTMORELAND COUNTY TRANSIT AUTHORITY PLANNING TO RAISE FARES

The Westmoreland County Transit Authority is planning to raise fares for their shared-ride service.  The hike is expected to help cover a four-percent increase over last year for the new budget that was passed last week.  The spending bump is going toward higher maintenance and repair costs, fuel expenses, pricier employee benefits, and raises.  The authority is planning to share more information about the fare increase during their board meeting next month.
