Longtime Murrysville Police Chief Tom Seefeld is retiring next month after a career in law enforcement that spans four decades — including a quarter-century stint as police chief. Seefeld has served as police chief in Murrysville as well as New Kensington. His career started in Irvin when he joined the police department at age 22. He became New Kensington’s youngest police chief when he was 39, and he organized what would become the Westmoreland County SWAT team in 1999. His two sons have also followed him into law enforcement.
