A Unity man is charged with operating an illegal chop shop. The Trib reports that 46-year-old Windell Carroll is charged with theft, chop shop operation and receiving stolen property for an incident that goes back to January. The victim’s Kia Forte broke down and was towed to a shop in Unity when Carroll offered to sell him the motor from another car and charged them $3000 for the part that ended up not working. It turned out the part came from another Kia Forte stolen in late 2023 in Ligonier Township. Carroll is free on $25,000 bail and is due back in court on July 3rd.
