An attorney by Robert M. Whitley Jr., who is charged in connection with a drug case is challenging an aggravated assault charge that stemmed from a trooper reportedly requiring Narcan treatment while investigating the incident. The Trib reports that a trooper in that investigation came into contact with an unknown substance in Whitley’s vehicle began exhibiting signs of possible narcotics exposure upon returning to the station in Greensburg. Multiple doses of opioid overdose reversal drug Narcan were administered. The trooper was taken to a hospital. While Whitley’s attorney says the charge is not applicable, Assistant District Attorney Krista Koontz said prosecutors based the aggravated assault charge on reckless actions by the suspect. Bond was set for Whitley at $10,000 on Friday.
