UPPER BURRELL TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON REZONING REQUEST

Upper Burrell Township supervisors are holding a public hearing on a controversial rezoning request this week.  The session is happening at the township’s municipal building on Thursday evening and is centered on a 20-acre parcel that was part of the shuttered Oak Lake Golf Course.  The landowner wants to have the zoning for the area shifted to industrial so he can use it as the hub for his paving and excavating business.  Some nearby neighbors have argued that the operation causes excess noise and traffic along Oak Lake Road.
