FORMER PITT BREWERY STARTING TO COME DOWN

The former Fort Pitt Brewery building has started to come down.  The Trib reports that the demolition has been at least two years in the making.  The buildings have been a headache for city officials for many years prior, previously being targets for vandals and others.  The complex was acquired by the Westmoreland County Land Bank in a judicial sale nearly two years ago.  The work is being done by GEMM Demolition of McKees Rocks.  Once demo is complete, the land will be prepared for redevelopment.
