The conservator for the Westmoreland County says he will be stepping back from his work as the new leadership is starting to work well. The Trib reports that Jim Antoniono said on Tuesday that his intensive oversight of the Register of Wills office is no longer needed as operational functions, supervision and staff training has improved significantly over the last few weeks. Antoniono was appointed in May to serve as the defacto head of the office after the elected Register of Wills, Sherry Margetti Hamilton was effectively stripped of her duties after being found in contempt of court for violating two court orders that required her and the staff to adhere to strict standards after finding the office fell behind in its work repeatedly.
