A man from the Dominican Republic will face deportation after serving an eight-year prison sentence in the U.S. for selling drugs to an undercover state trooper two years ago in New Stanton. The Trib reports that Leonardo Ramirez was convicted in May in Westmoreland County Court on three drug-related counts connected with the sale of $50,000 worth of fentanyl and other drugs on August 18th of 2022. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials put a detainer on him after his prison time is over and will look to send him back to the Dominican Republic.
