OWNERS OF LOCAL AMUSEMENT PARKS MAY BE SELLING ALL U.S. ASSETS

There are reports that the Spanish parent company of Idlewild and Soakzone, Kennywood and Sandcastle may be selling all of its U.S. Assets.  The Trib reports that Parques Reunidos EQT has hired someone to do a review of the company, which could lead to the sale of its 15 parks, A source told Reuters that the review is in the early stages and its outcome could not be predicted. The company still may hold onto its properties once the review is complete, according to the source.  The review would start after the summer season, when the parks witness their highest visitor turnout, the source told Reuters.Lynsey Winters, a spokesperson for Palace Entertainment, could not be reached for comment.
