IRWIN COUPLE ACCUSED OF TRYING TO SMUGGLE DRUGS INTO WESTMORELAND COUNTY PRISON

A husband and wife are accused of trying to smuggle drugs into Westmoreland County Prison.  The Trib reports that John Kukonik and Olivia Weber were charged in connection with an incident in late May when Weber dropped off a suit jacket that Kukonik needed for a court hearing.  Weber allegedly smuggled suboxone strips in the sleeves of the coat.  Weber was arrested Friday and Kukonik was arraigned Monday on charges of contraband and drug possession. Weber’s bail was set at $50,000 and Kukonik’s at $75,000. The Irwin couple was being held at the Hempfield lockup.
