Road work is going to get underway today in West Newton and Allegheny Township. The Trib reports that work on a storm sewer project on Brush Creek Road between Brush and Trolley Streets in Manor will affect traffic in the area, with a detour starting August 26th. Also, According to PennDOT, the Robertson Street railroad crossing is expected to remain closed Monday through Aug. 23 in West Newton, allowing crews from CSX Transportation to perform maintenance. Traffic will be diverted along North Second Street and Plummer School, Herminie-West Newton, Lowber and Sutersville roads. And PennDOT will close a section of Allegheny Township’s Hulton Road on Monday morning so crews can install a precast concrete box culvert, replacing the superstructure of a bridge over a Chartiers Run tributary. Drivers can expect delays and possible detours in all three areas.
