The lawyer for a Greensburg Teenager charged in connection with an armed robbery in April said that his client’s case should be settled in Juvenile Court. The Trib reports that 16-year-old Cayden Essway is charged in connection with an incident on Mt. Pleasant Road in Hempfield where police said he and another teen disarmed their victim, threatened them with a gun and punched him several times during an alleged robbery of the victim’s clothes and shoes. While Cayden’s attorney said that his client should be given a chance to rehabilitate through the juvenile system, Prosecutors say Essway has been in and out of the juvenile system since age 12, and his prior history justifies him being tried as an adult. Judge Tim Krieger did not issue a ruling yesterday.
